Error downloading runtime environment after applying update

After attempting to update from Destkop 1.2.3 to 1.2.4, I am unable to launch Desktop. When I try, I receive the error below when I get to the "Downloading runtime environment 1 of 2" step of the launcher.

Initialization error: Error: Shasum of the downloaded file did not match the expected value. Please try again!

I downloaded the installer from the website and ran it, where before I had clicked "check for updates" in the app. That seems to have resolved my problem.
