GraphDatabase โ€” Cypher language plugin with Neo4j 5+ / 2025+ grammar support

Hi everyone,

I just published GraphDatabase, a free and open-source plugin that brings Cypher language support to IntelliJ-based IDEs.

If you work with Neo4j, you might have used the original Graph Database Support plugin by Neueda or Alberto Venturini's fork. Both are now outdated. This fork picks up where they left off, with a major focus on modernizing the Cypher grammar.

What's new compared to the original:

  • Neo4j 5+ / 2025+ grammar โ€” label expressions (:Person&Employee, IS Person), quantified path patterns, modern constraints (FOR/REQUIRE), SHOW+YIELD, COLLECT/EXISTS/COUNT expressions, type predicates (IS :: STRING)

  • Complete DDL/DCL coverage โ€” privileges, database admin, aliases, server management, TERMINATE, RENAME

  • AuraDB quick connect โ€” paste your AuraDB credentials file and the connection form fills itself

  • Compatible with Neo4j 5.x LTS, Neo4j 2025+, AuraDB, Docker, and DozerDB

  • IntelliJ 2025.3+ compatible

All the usual IDE features are there: syntax highlighting, code completion from your connected database, query execution, graph visualization, table view, and Cypher injection in Java/Kotlin/Python code.
