Desktop vs Community - Database version

Desktop version 1.4.15 allows one to create a database version up to 4.4.12.

1. Older/newer versions of Desktop may have differing support for database versions, correct?
2. Where is this information found?

Community and Enterprise editions currently at 4.4.12.

1. These versions are a 1 to 1 with database version, correct?
2. Community edition 3.5 will not support database version 4.x, correct?
