Sandbox instances are silently shared with other users?

I am a university teacher and have been using sandboxes for lab sessions for several years. Everyone is signing up for their own sandbox, but today we noticed that some students nevertheless ended up sharing the same sandbox instance! It got quite confusing
I have not noticed this behaviour in previous years and cannot find any mention regarding this in the documentation. It would be interesting to know if it is intentional behaviour or a bug? Anyway, I will ask my students to create proper Aura instances next time.

@joakim.isaksson this shouldn’t happen as far as I know - I have pinged the question to an internal team.

Having said that - Aura is a much better way to go!

That is very interesting. I dont believe it is intentional.

A quick question, were they using the sandbox instance via sandbox.neo4j.com or the "integrated" sandbox on GraphAcademy?

A big ask but do you happen to have the sandbox instance information ? e.g. the connection URL?

We were using sandbox.neo4j.com

This is one of the affected sandboxes (shared between myself and a student): 9c8ddb98d0ac89ce24c4324cee87c9dc.bolt.neo4jsandbox.com

There was at least one additional shared instance between two students, I can ask the students to send me the instance id for that one as well if you need it.

Thank you very much, I have passed on the information to the team to investigate.

Hey @joakim.isaksson , thanks a lot for your bug report. I can confirm that this is an issue on our side. We have found the core reason, and we’re working on fixing it. I will respond to this ticket when it’s resolved (it may take a few days)

@joakim.isaksson I’d like to confirm that a fix for that issue has been now deployed
