Is there a reason why the MacOS distribution for MCP server is called Darwin_blabla depending on the blabla chipset?

Newbie here, returning back to the Mac after being away for 30 years (literally!), and few decades stuck in Windows. Calling out Darwin is a little like says WinNT, isn’t it? Sorry for the dumb question, but I get I have a feeling I’m, missing a little bit of “Neo4J-speak”? Many thanks

Darwin is still the name of the kernel of MacOS ... 1999 onwards.
