Your configuration seems to have a wrong setting;

neo4j.topic.cypher.nyc_taxicab_data should instead be neo4j.cypher.topic.nyc_taxicab_data instead. Please refer to Cypher Strategy - Neo4j Connector for Kafka for documentation of Cypher strategy.
