# Compatibility with Java 17

Hi all. I've started [migrating our application to Java 17](https://github.com/Rothamsted/knetbuilder/tree/2022-jdk17-marco). Because our Maven build launches a community edition Neo4j server (using [this plug-in](https://github.com/Rothamsted/neo4j-server-maven-plugin)), I would need Neo4j compatibility with Java 17 too.

Are there plans for the next releases? The 4.4.8 is still raising [this problem](https://community.neo4j.com/t5/neo4j-graph-platform/can-t-bring-up-neo-community-edition/m-p/26172).

I believe Neo4j 5.0, scheduled for release in October, will support Java 17.
